All smiles at the Silchester Fete and Dog Show
Following its successful return in 2021, this year’s edition of the Silchester Fete and Dog Show was joined by the popular Silchester Market which featured a record 60 stalls.
Entertainment was provided by the Bezerkaz Circus company, the Silchester Community Choir, and a local pipe band and Bavarian band.
Refreshments at the fete were provided by a bar serving beer and cider (supported by the Calleva Arms), a tea and cake tent and a barbecue selling burgers and hot dogs.
The dog show received over 150 entries across the different categories.
The best in show champion was a pugshire (pug and Yorkshire terrier mix) called Star who won the cup along with his owner Rebecca Graham from Tadley.
Richard Eldridge said on behalf of the fete organising committee: “Once again, it was wonderful to see people visit Silchester from far and wide.
“Not only did it raise valuable funds for the upkeep and maintenance of Silchester’s beautiful 12th Century church and its outreach, but it showed what a dedicated team of organisers, helpers and supporters can achieve.”
The Hampshire village will also be hosting a barn dance on Sunday, September 25, at Silchester Farm.
