Allotment winners crowned at Newbury Town Hall





Each year, the town’s six allotment sites are inspected and an award for best plot is given to one green-fingered gardener at each site.
Stealing the title for Dairy Farm Allotments was Geoffrey Annetts, and at One Tree Park Allotments Sarah De Souza took the top prize.
Paula Craven was awarded best plot at Parsons Allotments, Carol Fuller at Southby’s, John and Heather Rasman at Wash Common and Stephen and Chris Antysz at West Mills.
Parsons Allotments was crowned best site overall, the award for which was collected by allotment steward James Taylor.
Recipients were presented with their awards by the mayor of Newbury, Jo Day, at Newbury Town Hall on Monday night, ahead of a meeting of its community services committee.
