Amber warning reduced to yellow as less rain now expected today (Sat)
The weather forecast has improved slightly, with rain now expected from noon until 6pm.
However, the heavy rainfall in recent days has left roads and fields flooded while the potential for property flooding is still high for some residents.
One resident in Boxford reported this morning (Sat) that she had taken steps to defend her property after the River Lambourn flooded into her garden.
Rural areas including Bucklebury, Brimpton and Lambourn have also been badly affected by the flooding.
Other key roads which are holding floodwater include Lower Way, Thatcham, and Long Lane and Shaw Road, Newbury.

And at 8am today (Sat), the River Thames at Goring was at 5.17m (highest 5.44m).
Online reports also suggested that flooding had caused some properties in Newbury to be without power this morning, however Scottish and Southern Electric said that only two properties in the Chieveley area had reported any loss of power.
West Berkshire Council is urging people at risk of flooding to minimise waste water through limited use of dishwashers, washing machines and other household appliances.
Meanwhile, the council, Thames Valley Police and the Environment Agency are reminding motorists and pedestrians not to enter flood water and not to ignore road and footpath closure signs.
Red flood warnings - which indicate that flooding is expected and immediate action is required – are still in force for the River Pang at Bucklebury and the River Lambourn from Upper Lambourn to Great Shefford, including Lambourn, Eastbury and East Garston.
The River Kennet from Theale to Reading has also been issued with a red flood warning, as well as the River Thames at Purley Village and the River Kennet from Denford to Marsh Benham, including in Kintbury.
Amber flood alerts remain for the River Thames in Pangbourne, Whitchurch and Purley, and also for its tributaries which include Goring and Streatley.
Two amber alerts also still apply on the River Kennet for its tributaries from Berwick Bassett to Newbury and also from Thatcham to Reading, including in Burghfield, Colthrop, Woolhampton, Aldermaston, Theale, Calcot and Southcote.
The River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook has the same amber alert, as does the River Lambourn, including in Shaw, Eastbury, East Garston, Welford, Easton, Boxford, Woodspeen, Bagnor, Donnington, Great Shefford on the Great Shefford Stream and Winterbourne on the Winterbourne Stream.
