RAF Welford holds Remembrance service

A crowd gathered in quiet reflection at RAF Welford on Sunday.

Military personnel, museum members and civic dignitaries congregated at RAF Welford to pay their respects during Remembrance on Sunday (November 12).

Attendees included Mayor of Newbury Nigel Foot, RAF Welford base commander major Preston Smith and RAF squadron leader Jayne Robertson, from RAF Fairford.

Representatives of a number of organisations were in attendance, including the 501st Combat Support Wing, 101 Squadron, West Berkshire Council, Chaddleworth Parish Council, Welford Parish Council, Newbury Royal British Legion, West Berkshire Parachute Regiment and Welford Historical Society.
