The reports highlight the welcoming and nurturing atmosphere and pupil behaviour was recognised as a real strength across both schools.

Inspectors recognised the teaching of reading, sports provision and varied school trips to theatres and museums in enriching pupil experience.

They also commended staff, leadership and governors for their commitment to pupils, adding they “should continue with their ongoing work to ensure the curriculum is consistently implemented and embedded across every subject”.

The school choir has also achieved success in local competitions and at venues including the the Hexagon and Anvil theatres.

The choir’s next performance is at Reading Minster on December 8 – as part of the NHS Christmas concert – as winners of the ‘Let’s Sing Reading’ competition.
