Bradfield Village Hall is joining hundreds of communities nationwide in celebrating Village Halls Week, marking the contribution these venues make to daily rural life.

To support the national campaign, now in its sixth year, Bradfield Village Hall is inviting residents of all ages to attend its 1950s themed Open Day on Saturday (January 28).

Plenty of period games and music will complement the occasion, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cakes being served between 10am and 4pm.

Also making an appearance is the Lego model of the proposed new village hall built by seven-year-old Caleb Hill. Younger guests will have the chance to help build the proposed playground out of Lego or Duplo.

Why is the open day 1950s themed?

Because the current village hall opened in 1951 and the first Lego brick was patented in 1958.
