An ‘al fresco’ Pride and Prejudice is coming to Hungerford
OUTDOOR theatre is coming to Hungerford.
‘This Is My Theatre’ company will bring Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice to the town’s The Croft Field in a two-act adaptation to celebrate the author’s 250th anniversary year.
The company said: “Packed with rivalries, regrets and, of course, plenty of romance, our production is sure to spread joy this
summer.”
Spokesman Sam Hooper said: “We’re just a group of friends who wanted to bring live theatre to our town this summer.
“The Croft Field is the perfect setting for storytelling under the evening sun, and ‘This Is My Theatre’ are renowned for their fun and lively family-friendly performances.”
He added: “I was brought up on touring theatre productions down in the west country and have wonderful memories of watching outdoor performances on summer evenings, in beautiful settings.
“These shows are ideal for the whole family to enjoy together with a picnic, and a glass of something cold – it felt like the perfect fit for Hungerford.”
The production is scheduled to take place on the Croft Field on Sunday, August 13.
