An (almost) rainfree weekend ahead of West Berkshire, but flooding still possible

Light showers are expected from 6pm tonight (Fri), to last until around 3am tomorrow morning, and no further rain is expected until 6pm on Sunday.
From 9am tomorrow (Sat) until sunset, sunny spells are expected, and all other times are expected to be overcast.
However, the Environment Agency has said that while the worst of the rain has now passed, river levels are still rising.
This morning, the River Thames at Goring rose passed its record highest level and was sitting at 5.44m.
At 2pm it had reduced by 1cm.
The Pang at Pangbourne was at 1.07m at 4.30am, two cm below its record highest.
Red flood warnings are still in place for the River Thames at Purley, Pangbourne, Whitchurch, Goring and Streatley and the River Kennet from Theale to Reading and Denford to Marsh Benham.
Yesterday, The Barn community centre in Purley was being prepared for emergency accommodation for those who had been flooded.
The worst hit areas in the village are Wintringham Way, River Gardens, Chestnut Grove, Colyton Way and Mapledurham Drive.
Pangbourne, Streatley and Goring (pictured, top) have also been badly affected.
The Swan in Streatley has fallen victim to flooding in its restaurant, but remains open for business and is serving food in other parts of the building.
Amber flood alerts remain in place for the River Kennet from Berwick Bassett to Newbury, Thatcham to Reading, the River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook and the River Lambourn from Lambourn to Newbury.

A number of road and footpath closures are in place across the district due to flooding and West Berkshire Council is urging motorists to pay attention to such closures.
Among them is Sulhamstead Hill and Padworth Lane. The Monkey Bridge at Northcroft is also closed. You can check road closures here http://www.westberks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=28951
The council has said it is working closely with its partner agencies, to help minimise the affect of flooding in the district and that roadside drains and gulleys are being cleared of debris as soon as possible.
