Andover Road re-opens after two-vehicle collision




Mini car and motorbike involved

NEWBURY's Andover Road has re-opened after a collision earlier this morning (Tues) involving a car and motorbike.

One pump from Newbury Fire Station was called at 8.48am to the A343/Andover Road.

Firefighters made the scene safe and assisted other emergency services, with ambulance and police also at the scene.

Firefighters departed at 9.01am.

Update 3.50pm

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were called at 8.41am and sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and officer to the scene.

The motorbike rider sustained leg injuries, not serious, according to the ambulance service.

He was taken to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke.
