Anne Frank exhibition at Newbury Library
An exhibition will open on Monday, marking the start of Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations in West Berkshire
AN ANNE Frank exhibition opening at Newbury Library on Monday (January 10) forms part of the West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations.
The story of the Frank family is set in the context of the rise of Nazism and the Holocaust and the exhibition, which runs until Saturday January 15, was supported by Greenham Common Trust.
Untold Stories is the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2011 - the official date for which is Sunday May 1 - and the exhibition portrays the help and assistance that many people gave during this historical period.
The exhibition marks the start of Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations in West Berkshire and organisers are looking for other Untold Stories from the Second World War, related to the Holocaust, or other Nazi atrocities. Please send them to Marcia Perkin, email at marcia.perkin@ntlworld.com, by February 7.
Some stories, may be published, or displayed (with permission), at an evening of remembrance to conclude the West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations 2011 at Newbury Town Hall chambers, from 6.30pm to 9pm, on March 9.
