Hundreds wave off The Vine and Craven Hunt for its annual Boxing Day drag hunt meet in Lambourn

The port was poured as hundreds of supporters of the hunt headed to Lambourn for the annual Boxing Day drag hunt meet.

The clatter of hooves, sound of the horn, the sight of hunting pinks and the raising of stirrup cups created an atmosphere unchanged over centuries.

More than 100 people crowded into the field off Crowle Road to meet the riders and hounds from The Vine and Craven Hunt before the annual event.

There was also a collection for the West Berks Foodbank, which provides seven-day food parcels to people in crisis.

The Hunting Act 2004 banned hunting wild mammals, including foxes, with dogs and since then, participants have had to follow a scent laid out for the hounds, rather than a fox, which is known as drag hunting.
