Another outdoor spectacle set for Newbury
The Companie Luc Amoros show, Page Blanche, has been lined up to take place in the town on Saturday, October 1
GIANT insects, acrobatics and trapeze acts and even giant white inflatables are some of the outdoor projects which have livened up Newbury market place in recent years, and now another spectacular performance is being planned.
The Corn Exchange has lined up the renowned Compagnie Luc Amoros show, Page Blanche, fresh from a run headlining the programme of events at London's Thames Festival and National Theatre Festival.
Page Blanche use shadow puppetry, music, song and lots of paint to create their epic images on huge canvases mounted on an enormous 10 metre by 10 metre scaffold structure.
The show will take place on Saturday, October 1.
Accompanied by live music and voices, the show will create, destroy and recreate unique works of art using around 300 litres of paint and 360 square metres of plastic film.
The outdoor event is funded by the Greenham Common Trust and follows other international companies who have brought outdoor spectacles to Newbury.
