Anti-incinerator group to hold meeting in Curridge
Those opposing plans for an incinerator in Chieveley are to meet tonight (Wednesday)
RESIDENTS intending to fight plans by waste firm Grundon to build an incinerator in Chieveley are to hold an open meeting in Curridge tonight, with people from all sides of the district expected to attend.
Concerned Chieveley, Curridge and Hermitage have allied with the Curridge Residents Association (CRA) to fight off an attempt to build a large waste incinerator in Chieveley.
A working party has been formed to discuss concerns over the proposed plans by Grundon to build an energy from waste facility at Old Kiln Farm, near to Junction 13 of the M4.
Following an initial strategy meeting, the group will meet at the Curridge Women's Institute Hall tonight at 8pm.
The aim of tonight's gathering is to give the wider public the opportunity to better understand the proposal and publicly raise their concerns.
A high turnout is expected by organisers, who have asked for the help of nearby residents to allow parking, and for those coming from farther afield to share lifts.
