Antiques & Anecdotes with Thomas Forrester in aid of Swings & Smiles charity
The Retreat Elcot Park is hosting an afternoon event with Thomas Forrester, in support of Thatcham-based charity Swings & Smiles, writes Bethany Sirianni.
The fundraising event for the charity that provides services for children with special needs and their families, will take place on Tuesday, August 5, from 2pm to 5pm.
A spokesperson of The Retreat at Elcot Park describes it as “a memorable afternoon of tea, treasures and togetherness – all in support of an incredible local cause”.
Tickets for the day cost £35 and the event will bring antiques, anecdotes and afternoon tea to the guests.
Thomas Forrester, who runs Newbury-based Special Auction Services, is a renowned TV auctioneer best known for his appearances in Bargain Hunt, as well as Antiques Roadtrip and Flog It.
Guests are encouraged to take along personal items of sentimental value for informal valuations.
Alongside stories and discussions throughout the afternoon, guests will be treated to a quintessentially British afternoon tea, with homemade scones, freshly prepared sandwiches and a selection of sweet treats.
Swings & Smiles, based in Lower Way, provides 1,500 local families with play sessions, respite care and sibling support.
