Appeal for witnesses to head-on collision near the Butt Inn, Aldermaston Wharf




Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a head-on collision in Aldermaston Wharf.

The drivers of a grey Audi A3 and a black Vauxhall Astra sustained injuries that required hospital treatment during the collision on the A340 Basingstoke Road, near to the Butt Inn public house.

The driver of the Audi remains in hospital receiving treatment, and the Vauxhall driver has been discharged.

The collision occurred at around 2.20pm on Saturday, July 3.

Investigating officer, PC Samantha Dixon, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are conducting an investigation into this incident and have already spoken to a number of people who saw what happened.

“I would like to appeal to anyone else who saw this collision and has not spoken to us to please get in touch.

“Further, I would appeal to anyone who has a dash-cam and was in the local area around the time of this incident to please check footage in case it has captured something that could help with this investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to make a report online or call 101, quoting reference 1235 3/1.”
