Appeal for runners for Prior's Court in Reading half marathon
The Hermitage-based charity and school, which supports young people aged five to 25 who are severely affected by autism, had a team of runners lined up which have had to pull out at short notice, leaving five spaces available in the race.
The team hopes that around £3,000 can be raised in the marathon, on Sunday, March 2, to contribute to its fundraising target of £100,000 for 2014.
This will go the building of a new multi-sensory area to be opened for children and young people.
The community and events fundraiser for Prior's Court, Jo Trezise, said: "The money raised will go directly towards benefiting the young people at Prior’s Court and supporting our current fundraising appeal to create a new multi-sensory suite.
"The support of the local community for Prior's Court is hugely important and will make a big difference to the young people by helping to create a wonderful new multi-sensory facility that is really beneficial for the young people's sensory needs."
