Appeal for support ahead of annual Scouts St George's day parade
The festivities will kick-off at 1pm when the parade will leave Market Place, head along Northbrook Street and through Parkway shopping centre into Victoria Park, where a number of activities for the Scouting groups will be on offer.
It is hoped live dance and music performances will be held.
Club members will then renew their Scout Promise in Victoria Park along with a multi cultural blessing.
3rd Newbury Beaver Scout Leader, Michelle Elliott, said: "The emphasis will be on having fun and being proud of their Patron Saint.
"I would like to encourage a carnival atmosphere and if I had the funds would have some street entertainers as well.
"We would like to make this a celebration of our Patron Saint of not just England, but of Scouting, and would welcome anyone that would like to come along and cheer us on our way."
She hopes to create goodie bags for all participating Cubs, Beavers, Scouts and Explorers, and is appealing to local businesses to donate any items then can.
Anyone who would like donate can reach Ms Elliott by emailing michelle.elliott@hotmail.co.uk
