Hampshire Police appeal for witnesses following attempted burglary near Kingsclere

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following reports of an attempted burglary at a property on Winchester Road near Kingsclere.

At 2.34am on Wednesday, August 25, officers were called to reports of two unknown males trying to gain access to the premises.

The suspects, who were both wearing dark clothing, were disturbed and fled the scene. Nothing was reported stolen.

Just 30 minutes later, police received a second report of another attempted break in at a property 10 miles away on Park Lane, near West End Green.

Two men wearing dark clothing were seen, but again, nothing was reported stolen.

Police say that, at this time, there is nothing to suggest both incidents are linked.

They are now asking anyone who saw anything to come forward.

It has also issued a reminder to members of the public to make sure their sheds are protected and to consider installing additional security, such as locks and CCTV.
