Appeal for witnesses of attempted burglary in Monks Lane





A statement released by the police today (Fri) said a 20-year-old man was walking past the gates to Newbury College when he was approached by two men who shouted aggressively at him and ordered he hand over his belongings.
It is reported that man was pushed and punched in the face by his attacker.
The offender is described as white, aged 17 to 19, approximately 5ft 2ins, of stocky build and with short, dark hair.
PC Steven Brown, from Newbury police station, said: ᅭIf anyone recognises the description of the offenders, or who saw them sitting outside the collage gates please contact police.
ᅭThis was an unprovoked attack on a young man simply walking to a friendᅰs house.ᅮ
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the offence, recognises the description of the offenders, or who saw the offenders in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
Anyone with any information should contact PC Brown from Newbury police station via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
