Beedon couple lodge appeal against West Berkshire Council over refused barn demolition
An appeal has been made to the secretary of state after West Berkshire Council refused to grant planning permission to demolish three barns.
A couple has lodged an appeal again the council after it refused to grant them planning permission to demolish three vacant barns and to build three new residential dwellings, with parking and other infastructure, at Beedon Manor Farm.
The council issued its decision in October saying that while it approached its decision in a positive way, it was unable to see how the development could improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of the area.
Some residents welcomed the removal of the “unattractive” structures, while others raised concerns for the proposed new design and the potentially greater impact this could have on the surrounding landscape.
The appeal (APP/W0340/W/23/3319969) started yesterday (Tuesday) and will be determined on the basis of written representations.
All representations must be received by August 15.
