Armed Forces day at The Racecourse
The event will celebrate the hard work and dedication of the men and women of our Armed Forces, with an aviation theme and special flypast by the Army Air Corps at its annual Worthington’s Armed Forces Day.
With free entry for all Armed Forces personnel, MOD civilians and Royal British Legion members, the racecourse will launch Berkshire’s 2012 Poppy Appeal.
As well as the flypast by the Army Air Corps, visitors can enjoy entertainment ranging from laser shooting and paintballing to vintage vehicle displays and a sing-a-long brass band.
Managing director of racing and events at The Racecourse, Stephen Higgins said: “At this important time of the year we want to ensure that all of our visitors recognise the hard work of our Armed Forces, in particular our younger visitors. We hope they will feel encouraged to learn about the forces by experiencing and speaking to those representing them and I am sure they will be in awe of their bravery and skills.
“We want to offer free entry to our Armed Forces personnel in honour of their hard work and commitment which we are supporting by raising money for this year’s British Legion Poppy Appeal, and building awareness and supporting this important cause.”
