Reading Magistrates' Court: arrest warrant issued for Newbury man accused of assault

A WARRANT has been issued for the immediate arrest of a man accused of assault.
Gavin Richard Hicks was due to have appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 25, to answer the charge.
But he did not turn up.
Specifically the 49-year-old, of Kennet Place, is charged with assaulting Christian Gough by beating him at Mr Hicks' home address on Tuesday, February 2.
He pleaded not guilty at a previous hearing in March.
Although Mr Hicks' legal representative appeared at the latest hearing, the defendant did not.
The Crown Prosecution Service therefore asked for a fresh charge to be added - that of failing to answer to bail.
Magistrates then issued a warrant for Mr Hicks' immediate arrest.
