Arrests after police car crashes
The police car was responding to a hoax call made to the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service
THREE people have been arrested for wasting police time after police car crashes in West Berkshire yesterday (Thursday).
The police car lost control and skidded on the wet road after a heavy downpour at about 1.30pm along the eastbound lane of the A4 in Woolhampton.
The car crashed into the wall of a residential property just twenty meters from Cosy Cottage Cattery.
Two officers were injured, and were taken to Basingstoke Hospital. One received lacerations to his cheek and neck and received stitches, another received whiplash injuries.
Following an investigation three people from Calcot have been arrested on suspicion of wasting police time after a hoax call made to the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, which the police were also responding to.
Those arrested are two women aged 21 and 18 and a boy aged 15.
They have been bailed until September 21 pending further inquiries.
