Arrests in connection with Tadley burglaries/assaults
According to Hampshire Constabulary, the first incident happened at about 11pm on Monday, April 8, where three men forced their way into a house in Broad Halfpenny Lane. There was a similar incident at about 9.15pm on Friday, April 12, at a house in Church Lane, Tadley.
During both incidents the victims were assaulted.
Detectives are currently treating these incidents as linked, due to the very rare nature of this crime, the location and the number of suspects involved.
Three men – a 25-year-old man from Basingstoke, a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Tadley – have been arrested in connection with these burglaries.
The 25-year-old was released with no further action. The 26-year-old and 27-year-old have both been released on bail until June 12, pending further enquiries.
Det Insp Ben Chivers said: “Both of these incidents were extremely frightening experiences for the victims. There is a team of officers working on both these incidents and I would urge anyone who knows anything about either one to contact us.
“Have you heard people chatting locally or seen comments on social media sites? Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial to these investigations.”
