Art to inspire travellers




The Newbury Weekly News has joined the district council, business and charitable sectors in an innovative project to improve the look of Newbury Bus station, pictured above.
West Berkshire Counci’s Transport Services Team is to partner with Volunteer Centre West Berkshire, whose idea it was, Newbury-based Apple Print and the Newbury Weekly News in this innovative project.
By improving the facilities at the Newbury bus station, the partnership will help ensure that the travelling public of West Berkshire experience all the benefits of a good local bus service as well as improving the look of this travel gateway in the centre of the town.

Newbury Bus Station is the starting point for journeys throughout West Berkshire and over the border into North Hampshire and judges are looking for large portrait format oils, watercolours or photographs that depict street scenes, villages, hamlets, townscapes or identifiable countryside scenes of places you would pass by or arrive at from a bus journey.
