ASBO handed to Thatcham man
Adrian Lewis, aged 48, of Rotary Way, Kennet Heath, was convicted for shoplifting and theft after pleading guilty to two offences at Reading Magistrates' Court on September 19.
Lewis stole £100 worth of Nivea products from the Lloyd's Pharmacy in Crown Mead and also stole £56 worth of meat from the CO-OP in the Broadway on September 10.
A previous anti-social behaviour order placed on Lewis from January 2012 has now been extended.
The order now means that he is barred from entering any retail establishment in Hungerford.
He also must not enter Waitrose, Co-op in Broadway, Co-op in Burwood Centre, the Co-op Food in London Road, Wyevale Garden Centre or Cobbs Farm in Hungerford, Lloyd's Pharmacy in Crown Mead or the Kingsland Centre in Thatcham.
The order will last for 16 months.
Investigating officer PC Jon Bradford said: “Lewis has been a persistent thorn in the side for retailers in the Thatcham area.
“As well as stealing a large amount of valuable stock he has also caused a huge amount of work for Thatcham Neighbourhood Police Team.
“Banning him from these stores is a great result for them and the local community.”
