Ashford Hill Primary School's new adventure playground opened.
£15,000 venture thanks to hard work of school's PTA
ASHFORD Hill Primary School pupils are enjoying some exciting playtimes after a new £15,000 playground was opened on Friday, October 7.
Pupils and staff at the school, in Ashford Hill Road, celebrated the opening of their new adventure playground equipment.
Headteacher Helen Borley said that the school’s PTA had worked tirelessly over the past 18 months to raise the money needed to completely refurbish the area.
Mrs Borley said: “This equipment was a fantastic addition to our already extensive outdoor facilities. The children have been so excited to be involved in the planning, watching the construction and completing the risk assessments.
“We would like to thank the entire PTA who were here at school spreading the bark this week to make sure we were ready for today.”
Pupils, who were involved at each planning stage, requesting different parts of the equipment including a slide and a climbing wall, enjoyed a sports afternoon at the opening, to mark the occasion.
