Astronomical evening marks the return of Stargazing Live

Organised by BBC Learning, the event is one of a number being held up and down the country bringing together astronomical societies, museums and discovery centres, country parks and local authorities.
The evenings include planetarium shows, rocket making, star parties, alien activities and night time star cruises as well as topical talks and discussions contributing to a national stargazing celebration.
Around 113,000 people took part in Stargazing LIVE events around the UK last year.
Newbury Astronomical Society will be hosting workshops on the night and Chris Hooker from the group said: “Newbury Astronomical Society is very excited to be taking part in this year’s Stargazing Live event at The Racecourse Newbury.
“We are hoping for a fine evening for looking at the stars, but whatever the weather there will be lots of displays, advice and astronomy-based activities for everyone to enjoy.”
A ticket is required for the event.
