Woman remains in serious condition after being airlifted to hospital

A woman remains in a serious condition this afternoon (Friday), after a man was arrested on suspicion of an attempted murder in Inkpen.

The 49-year-old was arrested yesterday (Thursday) after officers were called to reports of a stabbing at a house in Robins Hill at 2.20pm.

Police have said that a 48-year-old woman sustained stab wounds to the body and was airlifted to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford where she this afternoon (Friday) remained in a serious condition, after being treated for life threatening injuries.

The man, who was arrested at the scene, remains in custody today (Friday).

Det Insp Stuart Bosley of Force CID said yesterday: “We would like to reassure the public that this was not a random attack.

“Currently officers are at the scene as part of the investigation and are carrying out house to house enquiries.”
