Attempted ram-raid in Hungerford
Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses to an incident at Great Grooms in Charnham Street
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted ram-raid at an antiques business in Hungerford in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
At about 3.26am, Thames Valley Police were alerted by an alarm company to an intruder at Great Grooms, Riverside House, Charnham Street.
Police spokeswoman, Rebecca Webber, said that a witness heard a bang and saw two men driving a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle, trying to smash the front door of the business.
However, the men were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the property and drove off in the direction of the Bear Hotel.
Nothing was taken in the incident, but the door was damaged.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and anyone with any information is urged to contact Pc Stuart Hale on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
