Award for clerk after 25 years of service to Baughurst Parish Council

Penny Waterfield was presented with an engraved vase and flowers by council chairman, Martin Slatford, in recognition of her 25 years’ service.
The gifts were presented at the council’s recent annual parish meeting at Heath End Hall.
Afterwards Mr Slatford said: “All the councillors had contributed to the gifts in appreciation of the commitment that Mrs Waterfield has shown to the community in Baughurst and to the professional guidance that she has provided to councillors.”
Mrs Waterfield also recently achieved her Certificate in Local Council Administration – the highest standard for parish council clerks.
Mr Slatford added that having a clerk with the qualification allowed the parish council to adopt a general power of competence, which is an enhanced status recognising the quality of training and increases the range of services that the council is empowered to provide.
