"Last year’s competition was of a very high standard and the judges were impressed with the planning and catering skills demonstrated by the competitors.
"The support of Newbury College and ‘Destination Newbury’ is much appreciated and enables this competition to take place.”
The participants work will be judged by a panel of three local food experts including Mr Galmiche, local businessman and caterer, Ian Alexander, plus a member of the college catering staff.
The judging criteria will include entrants providing full costing details for their meals, submitting work plans and list of ingredients.
Presentation, taste and healthiness of the food will also taken into account.
There will be a prize for the winner and runner-up and a trophy for the winning school.
