A 20-month-old baby has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision on the M4 today (Wednesday).
Thames Valley Police (TVP) were called to an incident near Membury services on the eastbound stretch of the motorway between junctions 14 and 15, at 9.52am.
A spokesman for TVP, Craig Evry, said two vehicles were involved in a collision, but no further details were forthcoming at this time.
He said the baby had been airlifted to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon with life-threatening injuries.
Three lanes of the M4 were blocked in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and the eastbound carriageway remains closed.
The incident is being treated as ongoing by police.
