Bach to Douai




Violinist Sarah Sew returns to home ground

Sunday's Music at Douai recital (4pm) features violinist Sarah Sew and cellist Antonio Novais in an all-Bach programme - Bach2. Sarah Sew has played at Douai many times, coming through the ranks of Berkshire Maestros, forming her own Brinkwells quartet, leading the Ella Chamber Orchestra and last year bringing a sextet of graduates from the Royal Academy to play a concert of Tchaikovsky and Schoenberg.

This month she has given the first Director's Recital at Reading University and made her Wigmore Hall debut on Monday,supported by the Maisie Lewis Young Artists' Fund Award. For the second year running she is the Leader of the European Union Youth Orchestra with whom she will be going on tour in the US under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy.
