Yew Tree Farm barn to be converted into three holiday lets
Plans to convert a barn on a Ball Hill farm into three holiday lets have been given the go ahead.
The function barn and former pool house at Yew Tree Farm in Ball Hill Road will be converted into three separate holiday lets after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council granted planning permission on Tuesday, January 31.
The farm is located behind the popular Yew Tree Garden Centre.
The existing barn previously provided changing room, shower and toilet facilities for a swimming pool which was filled in and removed between 2005 and 2017.
The building currently consists of a large hall space, accompanying store and single bathroom.
It will be converted into three separate holiday lets that will share an outdoor communal garden.
The first let will have an open plan living area, utility room, family bathroom and double and single bedrooms while the second will be the same without the utility room.
The third let will have a single double bedroom with the same amenities.
A new parking area will be created to facilitate the extra vehicles and a boundary wall will be built to separate the lets from the main dwelling at the farm.
East Woodhay Parish Council supported the application and said: “It will help to generate income for the local community and is in line with our emerging Neighbourhood Plan which seeks to support the tourist industry in the area.”
