Craft and finances: Metro Bank to host family activities

Metro Bank Newbury is hosting craft days for children from Monday, August 15, to Sunday, August 21, writes Kyra Radley.

Children and their parents are invited into the store on Northbrook Street to join in the crafts planned.

Colouring books and activities are organised, as well as a fun financial exercise to begin educating children on finances.

There is also the option of picking up a takeaway craft bag anytime during the week, and taking a quick photo with the bank mascot Metro Man.

Store manager Darren Smith, said: “We’re always looking for ways to support our local community.

“We know how long the summer holidays are and we are glad to be able to offer this free event for kids.

“Last year’s craft event was lots of fun and this year will be no different. You don’t have to be a customer to come in and enjoy the event – everyone is welcome.”

The Newbury store has held previous outreach events, including a craft week last summer.

The craft days run from 8.30am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
