A MOTORIST who was banned for drink-driving has been caught committing the same offence a second time.

And this time Mihail Resmerita was convicted of driving while disqualified, too.

The 27-year-old, of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, admitted driving a silver Volkswaken Touran near his home on Wednesday, September 29, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 43mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Mr Resmerita admitted driving while disqualified and driving without insurance on the same occasion.

The court heard his licence was still revoked at the time, having been cancelled for a previous drink-driving offence.

Mr Resmerita was fined £1,000.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £100.

Finally, Mr Resmerita was banned from driving for a further three years.
