Baughurst pupils attempt largest glow-in-dark painting world record

A total 178 pupils and 16 members of staff from Victory House at the Hurst Community College painted 48 sections of a 14.73m by 9.83m picture, in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest ever glow-in-the-dark painting.
“The picture was designed by our Head of Art, Sian Storey and is an image of a head with lots of ‘stuff’ in it - it is linked to our house charity this year which is Mindfull - a website recently set up to help young people with emotional difficulties or mental health issues,” said Sara Conran, the head of house, adding:
“All the pupils were fantastic today - they worked so well as a team and showed that with a bit of hard work and dedication anything is possible.”
The school is waiting for verification in a couple of months from Guinness World Records, as to whether the attempt - using special paint supplied by Kilabitzzz - beat the current record of 120 square metres and was therefore a success.
The Hurst successfully beat the world record for the largest ever Maypole Dance two years ago.
