Bayer cyclists fundraising efforts revealed
The cyclists were part of Bayer’s General Medicine team who set off from the company’s offices in Strawberry Hill to the foot of the Eiffel Tower in September – a total of 230 miles.
They were raising money for Naomi House and Jacksplace, the hospices for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions.
Spokesperson for the charity, Tina Starbuck, said: “This kind of money makes a huge impact as it equates to 166 days of nursing care by one of our fully-trained nurses. What a fantastic achievement.”
Bayer’s head of general medicine, Marion McPherson, said: “It was quite simply one of the best things that many of us have done.
“We all had moments when it got really difficult, but we were so committed to the thought that we were raising all that money for Naomi House and Jacksplace that it kept us going.”
