THE Coach and Horses pub in Beedon is hosting a charity fun day in aid of the Helen and Douglas House, the world's oldest hospice for children, today (Sunday).

The pub's assistant manager, Eddie Merch, said: “It is going to be a brilliant day and it's a bank holiday Monday too, so there's a good excuse.”

He said the pub was hoping to raise several thousand pounds for the hospice and that the events on the day will include a barbecue, games for children and live music, with contemporary rock band Groove Company providing the vibes.

The event will start at 12 noon and, weather permitting, will wrap up at around 5pm.
