Beenham children's day nursery plans approved

Nursery expected to create 15 new jobs

FIFTEEN new jobs are expected to be created in Beenham after plans for a children’s day nursery were approved last week.

The new nursery will be located in the former canteen and social club to the south east of Beenham Industrial Park in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Warwickshire-based company Banana Moon Day Nursery, which has more than 20 nurseries across the UK but only one in the south east, will move into the vacant building.

West Berkshire Council’s report said that the nursery would “improve the local economy, and the vitality and viability of the surrounding rural area”.

It added that it would not “unduly harm the character and appearance of the surrounding AONB”, or impact on neighbouring properties.
