Beenham Christmas lights switch-on tonight (Sunday)
Last year was the village’s inaugural lights switch-on (pictured), which was organised by parishioner Rhona Austin and funded by the parish council.
Mrs Austin has once again organised the event, with a little help from her friends.
Following on from the Christingle service at St Mary's Church, there will be a candle lit procession starting at 4pm from the church to the community room in Mount Pleasant.
Mince pies and mulled wine will then be served by the village Women’s Institute and Friendship Club, while the Beenham Band play a number of Christmas songs before the lights are switched on at 5.45pm.
After the switch-on, dinner and drinks will be served in the Six Bells pub.
This year’s tree has been donated by the Beenham Investment Group from Greyfield Wood.
