Beenham switches on Christmas tree lights

Carol singing, mince pies and mulled wine will ensure villagers are feeling festive today (Sunday)

THE village of Beenham will be celebrating today (Sunday) as the Christmas tree lights are switched on.

Following the Christingle service at the St Mary's Church, the lights on the Christmas tree will be switched on at 5.30pm outside Beenham Primary School with singing around the tree and refreshments served afterwards in the community room.

From 6.30pm until 8pm a hot buffet will be available at The Six Bells pub, Beenham, at a cost of £5 per adult or child. To guarantee food and give an idea of numbers, please purchase tickets in advance at The Six Bells.

The lights switch on event has been supported by Beenham Parish Council and the Beenham Investment Group (Greyfield Wood) donated the Christmas tree.

The Beenham Band will be providing the accompanying music for the carol singing and the Parent, Teachers and Friends Association will be serving mulled wine and mince pies.

The WI/Friendship group will be serving teas and coffees.

If you would like to make a donation, a list of required items, such as wine and mince pies, will be available in the porch of Fernwood (ask for Nola or Frank).

The house is on the corner of Church Lane directly opposite the school. Donations may also be left.
