Beer and cider festival kicks off today (Friday)
There will be fun, games and lots of beer and cider at the weekend long festival at Newbury Rugby club
NEWBURY Rugby Club is hosting its beer and cider festival this weekend.
It all kicks off today (Friday) with a live performance by The Al Gurr Jazz Quartet, with entry costing £15, which includes three tasters of the top beers and an Indonesian beef curry or Thai red vegetable curry.
The fun starts at 7pm and ends at midnight.
Tomorrow (Saturday), several live bands will play between noon and 10pm as part of the festival, which, for a £5 entry fee will also include several games and activities, a rugby tournament, a barbecue, paella and hog roast.
During the day there will also be more than 30 ales and ciders to try.
Finally, on Sunday, a traditional sports day will be held between noon and 5.30pm, with free entry.
The event will raise funds for the Rainbow Rooms at West Berkshire Community Hospital which are specifically designed to accommodate terminally ill patients and their relatives.
