Being Playful on Sunday afternoon

Caroline Woodhouse will be giving a clarinet recital - Being Playful - as part of the series of Tea and Cake concerts at the Old Bluecoat School, Thatcham, on Sunday (4pm). The programme features works by Bach, Reich and Gershwin.
Caroline graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with First Class Honours in 2008. She plays clarinet with a variety of professional ensembles and local orchestras and is a committed music teacher and workshop leader. During her time at the Academy she spent a summer in South Africa teaching with the 'Melodi Music Project' which gives children in Soweto access to music lessons and ensembles and set up a brand new music scheme in Camden 'Cadenza Music' which brought young professional musicians right into the heart of primary school music. Caroline's eagerness to make music has led her to work with many different artists on crossover projects like 'The Last Genie' with the Royal Opera House and East London Dance and with Readipop and the Urban Orchestra. Tickets, adults £10 and school-age children £5, are on sale at The Family Bookshop, the Broadway, Thatcham, or call (01635) 871777. Money raised will go towards the refurbishment and restoration of the historic building on the A4 Bath Road.
