Bereaved dog owner Shaun Reynolds’ whippet racing fundraiser in Lambourn after Alabama rot death
A dog owner who lost his beloved whippet, Willow, to Alabama rot is organising another fundraiser for research tomorrow (Sunday).
Shaun Reynolds has organised A Celebration of Willow #2 at Lambourn Sports Club from 1pm on Sunday, September 14.
The event has been postponed from June.
The club’s football pitch will be transformed into a purpose-built whippet racing track for seven live races from 3pm, with a three-piece traditional Irish band booked to round-off the day.
Life-sized garden games, a bouncy castle, a charity Tote, a silent auction and the opportunity for people to run their own four-legged friends behind the lure ahead of racing will be in place, with food and drink provided by local vendors.
Mr Reynolds hopes to raise £5,000 on the night and encouraged people to turn out in force.
Tickets, available on the door, cost £5.
