The Retreat at Elcot Park tops The Times and The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay 2023 list

A Berkshire hotel has been named as the best place to stay in the UK by The Times and The Sunday Times.

The Retreat at Elcot Park, located on the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford, has topped the newspapers’ Best Places to Stay 2023 list which contains 100 highly rated hotels across the country.

The Retreat at Elcot is a newly re-imagined 18th-century country house hotel and spa that contains two restaurants and is set in sixteen acres of grounds.

Head of travel at The Times and The Sunday Times Claire Irvin said: “Best Places to Stay 2023 is a celebration of the incredible properties we have here on home soil and, most importantly, the hard-working teams that have made each one of them such a singular success.

The Retreat at Elcot Park is the second hotel from hospitality brand The Signet Collection, the first being The Mitre in Hampton Court.
