A guide on the best places to live in Berkshire has been released – and three locations in West Berkshire made the list.
Muddy Stilettos, the UK’s luxury lifestyle website outside London, has revealed its definitive insider guide naming the Top 300 places to live across the country, in association with Knight Frank, with 10 locations in Berkshire.
Donnington was ranked the best place to live in West Berkshire, with Hungerford and Pangbourne also making the Top 10.
Founder and editor-in-chief of Muddy Stilettos Hero Brown said: “When people decide to move, they’re searching for more than just a house.
“They want a home, a lifestyle that works for them and their family, and if they’re strategic, a long-term investment too.
“Our guide will give them that extra reassurance they need to make their search easier in these difficult economic times.”
With recent changes in the mortgage and property markets, London homeowners face difficult decisions about their future career and lifestyle choices.
James Cleland, head of Country Business at Knight Frank, explained more: “With hybrid working promoting greater flexibility and an enhanced work-life balance, new hotspots are emerging nationwide as the demand for more space continues.
“When it comes to where to live, more than ever people want a vibrant and tight-knit community.
“It’s a trend that deepened during the pandemic and is likely to remain a leading factor for those looking to relocate.
“When planning a move, thorough research is crucial to finding a location that aligns with your lifestyle.
“Excellent schools, ease of commuting, and access to local amenities also continue to be significant factors.”
All entries in the directory are picked by the company’s editors, and draw upon a wealth of local knowledge and insight into the 35 most sought-after counties in England to show potential buyers local hot spots and up-and-coming areas.
