Beyoncé appearance increased Newbury hotel website searches by 48%

Hotels.com has said that after Beyoncé was seen at Next and Mothercare, searches for the town grew by 48 per cent in a day
Spokeswoman, Laura Watts, said that this figure would have come from the 24-hour period from the time of the initial reports of Beyoncé's appearance.
She said: "News of Beyoncé being spotted at the Newbury Retail Park spread like wildfire, with fans flocking to see if they can catch a glimpse of their idol, some being luckier than others.
"The over-whelming adoration that the public has for Beyoncé – and her superstar family – has led to a fantastic boost for Newbury with national searches on Hotels.com for the Berkshire town increasing by 48 per cent in just a few days.
"Newbury is a lovely town for a weekend break with great walking, golf and the famous racecourse.”
Last week, the Newbury Weekly News reported that not only had Beyoncé been spotted shopping in the Retail Park on Saturday, April 20 but that the Grammy award singer was also staying in a village on the Berkshire/Hampshire border.
Residents have been sworn to secrecy while Beyoncé completes the Northern European leg of her Mrs Carter Show world tour.
