Bid for nine new homes next to Premier Inn's Newbury Town Centre South hotel
Plans have been submitted for nine homes next to the Premier Inn on Pinchington Lane in Newbury.
The scheme also includes a reconfiguration of the car parking for the hotel.
The planning application asks to relocate the hotel car park on to the area where a former leisure complex stood and the construction of nine dwelling on the existing hotel car park.
The proposed new homes are five detached four-bedroom houses, four semi-detached three-bedroom houses and an extension to the Premier Inn hotel. The hotel extension is not part of this planning application.
Affordable housing has not been included in this application as the build would not constitute a major development.
West Berkshire Council’s Local Plan Core Strategy states that an additional 10,500 net additional dwellings will be required in the district between 2006 and 2026 and Newbury is the focus for new housing development.
